If you're looking for a winter adventure, look no further than the Tri-Town Ski & Snowboard Village in the picturesque Temiskaming region! This hidden gem has been a vibrant part of the community for over 60 years, and it's not hard to see why.
Nestled in the heart of the stunning Lorrain Valley, the Tri-Town Ski & Snowboard Village offers a family-friendly atmosphere and a sense of community that you won't find at larger resorts. For over six decades, this not-for-profit ski club has been run by a dedicated group of volunteers who are passionate about providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere to downhill skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts. The club offers outdoor activity and winter recreation to both locals and visitors alike. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a beginner, you'll find everything you need to have a blast on the mountain.
The hill boasts an impressive 320 feet of vertical, offering breathtaking views of Lake Timiskaming. With terrain styles ranging from easy greens to challenging black diamonds, there's something for everyone at The Tri-Town Ski Village. The T-bar provides a quick ride to the top, while the handle tow in the beginner area offers a gentle introduction to riding the lift halfway up the hill.
The Ski Village offers a variety of options for visitors, including season memberships, full day and half day passes, and affordable equipment rentals. Quality instruction is available through group and private lessons, ensuring that skiers of all levels can improve their skills and confidence on the slopes.
The cosy chalet at the Ski Village is the perfect place to warm up between runs. With a wood stove upstairs, a canteen, a lunch area, and a birthday party room, it's the perfect spot to relax and recharge before heading back out onto the hill.
But it's not just the facilities that make The Tri-Town Ski Village special. The club has a rich history, dating back to the 1960s when it was known as The St. Bernard Ski Club. Over the years, the club has grown and evolved, changing its name to The Tri-Town Ski Club and later to The Tri-Town Ski and Snowboard Club. Generous donations from local entrepreneurs helped to fund the purchase of the club's first real groomer, and the chalet was expanded in the 1990s.
Through it all, the Ski Village has remained a beloved part of the community. Local families have worked tirelessly to keep the hill operating, and the friendly, family-oriented atmosphere of the club has remained a constant. From potluck dinners to family fun days to race days, there's always something happening at The Tri-Town Ski Village.
And if skiing or snowboarding isn't your thing, The Ski Village now has a tubing hill for those who prefer that option, as well as trails and snowshoes available for use. There's truly something for everyone.
Despite some recent poor winter seasons, the Ski Village continues to thrive thanks to the dedication of its volunteers and the support of the community. Recent upgrades to the "Red Rocket" T-bar and bombardier groomer, as well as the addition of a handle tow and learners area, ensure that visitors will continue to enjoy the slopes for years to come.
So if you're looking for a cosy getaway this winter, look no further than Tri-Town Ski & Snowboard Village. With its stunning views, wide range of terrain, and friendly community atmosphere, it's the perfect place to hit the slopes and make some memories.
